Same beans, same kettle, but the cup stopped tasting muddy. Turns out half of what I blamed on the roaster was just uneven grounds.
Coarse grind, a jar, fourteen hours in the fridge. Strained it through a paper filter twice. Smooth enough that I forgot to add milk.
Found a heavy white diner mug at a flea market for a dollar. It keeps coffee warm longer than anything else I own. Best purchase of the summer.
